Sports Day is taking place on Tuesday 12th July. It will be a 3-2 day.
Lessons 1 to 3 – Field and long distance track events. Only students taking part in these events are to come out of lessons to compete. All other students are in normal lessons.
After lunch (lessons 4 and 5) track events are taking place. All years will be watching the track events on the field.
Students who are participating on the day (in any event) are permitted to come into school in their PE kit.
It is forecast to be a warm sunny day so all students must be prepared with plenty of water, sun cream and a hat if they wish. This is particularly important in the afternoon when everyone is out on the field.

With the summer holiday nearly upon us, this is a great time to document those moments in your life that are worth writing about! This could be something mundane or completely out of the ordinary. It might be something that happened at home, on the beach, on work experience, in the supermarket, at the theatre or on holiday. However big or small, your challenge is to simply "capture the moment". Can you get across the feelings and create a clear image of your chosen moment by your vocabulary choices and use of language techniques? We would love to collect all of your written moments to showcase on our MyWrite site so go to highcliffe.school/L/MyWrite for further details, some top tips for writing and to submit your entry. |

Chemistry Twilight Session |
|
"Going to the Chemistry Twilight Session at Southampton University was a fantastic way to bring what we had learnt in class to life. We spent a few hours using different techniques to extract, separate and analyse a specific molecule from nutmeg using different processes and machinery we would’ve never been able to use before, even if we had learnt about some. The atmosphere was completely different to what we’ve been in at school, and it showed us how much chemistry changes and becomes even more interesting, engaging, and relevant to the world we live in as you move up the education ladder. We had the opportunity to talk to several chemistry students at different parts of the course, talking to some about their PhD they have just completed or the chemistry course at Southampton University in general, as well as helping us with the new experiments we were doing. The atmosphere in the lab was phenomenal, it was like being a real chemistry degree student!"

Yr10 Drama Performance Evening (AWS) |
|
The Year 10 GCSE Drama students performed to an audience of parents, peers and friends last week. Their successful exam performances were both informative and entertaining. It was fantastic to see them showcasing their aptitude at creating and directing; as well as the huge progress made with developing their confidence and performance skills since September. |
